TROPICAL LEPIDOPTERA Research

The full-color scientific journal Tropical Lepidoptera Research is published by the Association for Tropical Lepidoptera. Papers are made freely available online as open access as soon as they are ready for publication via the journal's archives, and compiled and printed in two issues a year in June/July and December. The journal commenced publication in 1990. All articles are peer-reviewed to provide the highest consistent quality and scientific content. Major abstracting services cover the journal, including Abstracts of Entomology (BIOSIS) and Zoological Record.

FORMAT: large (8.5 x 11 inches) and printing is on high quality coated paper.
CONTENT: scientific technical articles; virtually all articles have color illustrations. Past volumes (prior to 2007) included popular subjects such as travelogs and photo-essays.
ARTICLES: cover global lepidoptera fauna, with main focus on tropical regions of the world.
TABLE OF CONTENTS: Available online; cover illustrations are presented online along with the contents summary for each issue (see  CONTENTS By Volume  below).

ABSTRACTS and PDFs of Articles: TL Abstracts and PDFs

AUTHORS: Submission should be made electronically, with all figures and tables submitted as jpeg files set at the printed size and resolution of 300 dpi. Manuscripts that are written in English, Spanish, or Portuguese are accepted for publication, although non-English articles should contain an English language summary. Authors writing in a language other than their first language are advised to consider asking a native speaker to review their manuscript prior to submission. Suggestions for suitable reviewers are welcomed. At least one author must be a current member of ATL. There are no page charges for articles up to 10 pages, while additional pages will incur page charges of $25 per page. Please contact the editor to discuss options for publication of supplements for unusually long papers (e.g., > 30 pp). During the preparation of the manuscript, authors should make every effort to adhere to TLR standards and style. Samples of recent papers can be downloaded at the journal's archives.
